42 people drown globally
EVERY HOUR of EVERY DAY
In the 5 – 14 year olds age group in Australia, 71% of drownings are boys.
Only 9% of 10-year-old children know a rescue skill, only 4% could use such a skill.
The World Health Organisation advise that other than keeping kids away from water the leading point of action is to teach school aged children about water safety.
